It would appear that the White House has hired the Reverend duo of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to develop a public relations plan as the President’s ratings tumble. The public, through its tea party demonstrations and the 9/12 efforts, is simply demanding the truth. It knows that it is not getting the truth from the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It knows that it is not getting the truth from those who are trying to ram a health care plan down our collective throats. The public simply knows, from more than ample past experience, that the Federal Government is attempting to create another wasteful program that is long in cost and short in delivery.

So what is the administration to do? What can the Democrats always rely on to protect them from the public wrath, when it is so apparent that they have lied to us, yet once again? The answer is the “Race Card.” We, and I speak for those who want the truth, want less taxes, want smaller government, less intrusion into our personal lives, less waste and corruption by our public officials, are not racist !

Yes, of course, there are those out there who are racist, just as the President of Iran is a racist when he claims that the Holocaust was a hoax. But both he and the minority of American’s who adhere to such psychological cancer are not the ones demanding the truth from this administration. The vast majority of us could not care whether the President was black, white or a shade of green. The vast majority of us just want to be governed by honest folk who take pubic service seriously and do not go into public service to enrich their own lives.

No, Speaker Pelosi, the rhetoric of the recent 9/12 events is not reminiscent of the anti-gay rhetoric of the Harvey Milk days in San Francisco. We are not scheming to harm anyone, as your latest speech to the press suggests. No, we are not a bunch of hired thugs who are sent out, as has been the history of twentieth century Labor Union thugs, to break up peaceful gatherings of anti-union protesters. And finally, Speaker Pelosi, we are not against the President’s plans because we are racist.

In truth, I would love to see more alternatives to what is currently being offered in the health insurance market. I would love to see tort reform so that doctors can practice their trade without the sword of Damocles hanging over their heads as a result of every two bit personal injury attorney who probably has never even read the Constitution let alone argued a case in court. We would love to see legislation which prevents special interest groups, such as Trial Lawyers, from exploiting their profession at the cost of American lives. I would love to see our hospitals be able to at least break even at the end of the fiscal year, and not have to go bankrupt and close their doors because their Emergency Rooms are being used as primary health care by those without health insurance, and the federal law requires that all patients, with or without insurance must be stabilized, no matter what the cost, and no matter what the citizenship status of that patient might be. I would love to see every American Citizen being able to afford good health insurance. However, I do not want to see the Federal Government running another business of which they have no experience or knowledge.

I am a physician. I have seen what the power of private health insurance companies can do to patients and private practices and hospitals. I have seen the waste of government promulgated managed care. I have seen how our Veterans have been treated over the years by government run health care. And I know, without a doubt, that every program, outside of the Constitutionally directed areas of our federal government that past administrations have tainted, has failed or has become a taxpayer nightmare.

Finally, does this make me racist? Hell no! It makes me wise enough to know that when you sit on a hornets nest and get stung the first time, shame on the hornet; the second time shame on me. The liberal pundits, who are blind to anything having to do with the truth, may call it racism and Nancy Pelosi may call it anything she wishes. But saying it does not make it true, and truth is the last thing that this Democrat controlled Congress and administration want the public to know. Here is something to remember: when it comes to laws promulgated by our government, as with raising taxes, once the genie is out of the bottle it is but impossible to put him back. We don’t just want the truth – We demand the truth.
