The “Man of Change”

After his first year in office, we “the people,” for whom the Chief Executive and his minions in Congress work, have had a fair chance to see this “man of change” in action. I know that those who voted for him, or perhaps against the former President, had high hopes for a greater transparency in our federal government and with that transparency, the honesty which comes with such clarity and the success which was to have come with the job. The new President also gave his supporters the hope, through his oratory, that the problems we faced, as a nation, could be solved.

Well, it just has not turned out as you supporters hoped for. Absolutely nothing beneficial to America has occurred in Mr. Obama’s first year in office. To the contrary. There are more of us out of work, the values of our homes and our savings have continued to drop, the foreign wars from which he promised quick departure, have escalated, and those who supposedly brought all of our economic woes upon us, rather than being held accountable for their misdeeds, have been made whole again by our tax dollars. In summary, Mr. Obama has be an absolute failure. I won’t say I told you so……… no, I did tell you so and you obviously did not listen.

Still, the left leaning talk show hosts and TV pundits and comedians continue to support Mr. Obama’s sinking ship, despite the fact that few watch or listen to them. It’s hard to watch or listen to those who continually support that which is not true, nor can be made true by further falsehoods and jokes. Interestingly, they seem to have the same habit as exhibited by our President – they tend to lash out at those who contradict them.

President Obama is beginning to show his thin skin. Apparently, as a neighborhood organizer, he was not subjected to the slings and arrows of a political career. Now, as he holds the highest political office in the nation, he is demonstrating that perhaps he is not made for this type of pressure. Certainly the photo displays of both he and his family, which allegedly cover every nook and cranny in the White House, may not be enough to raise his own personal esteem in light of the mounting pressure he is receiving from not only the Independents and Conservatives of this nation, but also from his own party. After just one year in office, his presence does not seem to bode well for a Democrat on the campaign trail. Who in their right mind would have thought the state of Massachusetts, the state which still lives in a state of Camelot Fugue, would have sent a Republican to the Senate? It is for sure that Mr. Obama’s appearance in the campaigning, in that state, did nothing for the Democrat candidate.

Mr. Obama is having trouble maintaining his composure as the media begins to take swipes at him for his failure to perform. Well, Mr. Obama, that is just part of the job description. If you don’t know the rules of the game, then don’t play the game. You have not done well over the last year. We are actually much worse off today than when Mr. Bush left office, and I personally don’t believe we have seen the worst of it yet. World politics hates a whiner, and that is all you have been doing over the last year. In addition, Americans don’t like their President running around the planet apologizing to everyone about an America which, in reality, does not nor has ever existed as described. We are the greatest nation on earth. No other nation shows the compassion for others as we have. No other nation stands for freedom and liberty of both our land and the land of others as does America. No other nation is willing to sacrifice its own blood for those of others. Mr. Obama, we have nothing to be ashamed of other than perhaps electing the wrong man to the office of President.

Now quit your whining and get off your soap box, because your Ivy League elitist rhetoric, which fooled half the voters in this country last November, just isn’t doing the job today. There is corruption on Wall Street. Get at it. There is an economic slump in this nation of catastrophic proportions. Get at it. There is a national security threat from radical Islam. Get at it. Quit trying to blame everything on your predecessor and the Republican minority. The voter gave you the power to do good work. Get at it. And, if you feel your background as a local politico in Chicago just does not qualify you for the job, then just admit it and get out of the way. There are plenty of others willing to take up the slack.
